			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Seaward Properties have been proud sponsors of Chichester Rugby Club for more than a decade and were delighted when the club became the first in West Sussex to be awarded the RFU's Whole Club Seal of Approval.  The award requires outstanding effort by volunteers to achieve the standards needed to develop and sustain the sport at the club and Chichester join a select group of 85 nationwide to be recognised in this way.</p>
<p>The seal of approval award was handed over by Sussex RFU president Peter Bailey at a pre-match lunch on 3 March at which Seaward and other sponsors were thanked for their support.</p>
<p>The photograph shows the First XV with Barry Sampson, Seaward's Chairman on the right of Chichester's Mayor, Tony French.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Seaward Properties has been a supporter of <a href="http://www.thenationalopenartcompetition.com" title="National Open Art Competition website">The National Open Art Competition</a> over a number of years and was pleased to sponsor The Seaward Award for a young artist in 2011.  This prize was awarded to <a href="http://www.noebaba.com" title="Noe Baba Website">Noe Baba</a> at a presentation in the Minerva Theatre on 14 December.  Noe graduated from the University of Brighton with a First Class BA Hons in Fine Art in 2011 and has exhibited his work both locally in Arundel and Brighton and in Japan.  </p>
<p>The prize was awarded for a work in oil and spray paint on canvas entitled Batboy.  </p>
<p><em>Through intervention, colour and mark making, I want to make paintings that enable the viewer to empathise, recall what it was to be a child and so, to be human.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Seaward Properties were delighted to receive a further award for its development at The Square, Eastgate recently when they were announced as a winner in the Best Mixed Use Development category at the What House? 2011 Awards on Friday 18 November.</p>
<p>These awards, now in their 30th year, reward excellence and are judged by a panel of architects, journalists, design consultants and other experts who between them visit hundreds of different sites across the whole country.</p>
<p>The judges’ comments about the site were very positive and described The Square as a “classy and successful example of how mixed-use schemes, when done properly, can truly transform a neighbourhood”.</p>
<p>It was recognised that Seaward had achieved a “well-conceived and well-executed residential element in a far from easy site” and had managed to avoid “compromising on space in the units or by overcrowding the development”.</p>
<p>The design of the properties was praised and the high quality internal finishes and fixtures also received positive comment.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When Katie Pope first received the brochure for Lower Walls Walk at The Square she was so impressed by what she saw that she travelled to Chichester immediately to view the properties.</p>
<p>What particularly attracted her was the size of the rooms, which were much larger than she had expected for a new property, and she also saw the garage and parking space as a benefit in a town centre property.</p>
<p>When her friends saw the property they told her to “go for it” and she is delighted that she did.  “It is everything I could need or want in a house; very well built, light and elegant.”</p>
<p>Not only is Mrs Pope happy with her new home, she is also enjoying the fact that everything she needs is right on her doorstep including two excellent restaurants within The Square.</p>
<p>There is nothing she would change and she has now made the property her own with beautiful curtains, furniture and paintings.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Following up on a previous news item, Seaward would like to congratulate the Wheeling Dealers who successfully completed the 2011 Cahors Challenge, raising almost £7,500 for their chosen charities.  </p>
<p>Kevin Marsh (Captain), Rob Johnson, Colin Lambert and Mark Stuckey rode through France sporting Seaward’s logo on their shirts and, despite soaring temperatures, some serious hill climbs and occasionally getting lost, they completed the 545 miles in three days.</p>
